UHV (Ultra-High Voltage) refers to transmission technology with a voltage level of 1000kV and above for alternating current (AC) and ±800kV and above for direct current (DC). It not only greatly improves the transmission capacity of China's power grid but also helps optimize the layout of the power grid and power sources, promoting the coordinated development of the overall power industry and regional economies. It is the world's first ±1100kV UHVDC project and boasts four "world's best":

Highest Voltage Level:

It is the world's first transmission line adopting the ±1100kV DC voltage level, with a transmission loss of only 1.5% per 1,000 kilometers.

Largest Transmission Capacity:

With a transmission capacity of 12 million kilowatts, it can deliver 66 billion kWh of electricity to East China every year. At this power level, it can light up 400 million 30-watt electric lamps.

Longest Transmission Distance:

The total length of the line is 3,293 kilometers, making it the longest UHV transmission project in the world.

Most Advanced Technical Level:

For the project construction, key equipment such as ±1100kV converter transformers and converter valves were successfully developed. It is the first to adopt the ±1100kV indoor DC yard and the on-site assembly scheme of sending-end converter transformers.
