On August 16, 2022, the Yangtze River crossing towers in the Anhui section of the Baihetan-Zhejiang ±800kV UHVDC transmission line project, a key project participated by Far East Cable, were fully assembled. Following the Baihetan-Jiangsu ±800kV UHVDC project, this is another major artery project of the "West-East Power Transmission" strategy undertaken by Far East Cable.
The Baihetan-Zhejiang ±800kV UHVDC transmission project is a key project implementing the national "West-East Power Transmission" strategy. With a total length of 2140.2 kilometers, it passes through 5 provinces and cities: Sichuan, Chongqing, Hubei, Anhui, and Zhejiang. It is a major project that supports the "Dual Carbon" goals, serves the comprehensive air pollution control in the Yangtze River Delta, and boosts the integrated high-quality development of the region.
Far East Cable Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Far East Smarter Energy Co., Ltd. (Far East Energy, Stock Code: 600869), supplied large-cross-section steel-core high-conductivity aluminum stranded conductors worth hundreds of millions of yuan for this project.
To ensure the project schedule, engineers from Far East Cable fought against high temperatures and raced against time. Despite the soaring heat, Far East staff stayed at the project frontline, braving the scorching sun, busy with construction, and ensuring progress, launching a summer "high-energy" mode. This is a testament to Far East's commitment to solving substantive problems for customers with timely and superior products and services.

Construction Site
The high-conductivity aluminum and aluminum alloy series products for UHV transmission lines developed by Far East Cable through years of technical research are core products with multiple invention patents. Their performance indicators, including the conductivity of hard aluminum and high-strength aluminum alloy, are internationally leading, and have won the China Patent Award.

Patent Certificate
Up to now, Far East's UHV high-conductivity aluminum alloy series cable products have been successfully applied to more than 30 UHV transmission lines, including the "Baihetan-Jiangsu ±800kV UHVDC Project", "Weifang-Linyi~Zaozhuang-Hebei-Shijiazhuang 1000kV UHV AC Project", "Qinghai-Henan, Northern Shaanxi-Wuhan ±800kV UHVDC Project", and "Yazhong-Jiangxi ±800kV UHVDC Transmission Project", covering 16 provinces and cities such as Guangdong, Inner Mongolia, Jiangsu, and Xinjiang, realizing large-capacity, low-loss, high-safety, high-efficiency, and long-distance power transmission. At present, all lines are in good operation with satisfactory user feedback.
As a key project implementing the national "West-East Power Transmission" strategy, the project is connected at the sending end to the Baihetan Hydropower Station, the largest hydropower station under construction in the world, and at the receiving end to the Zhebei Converter Station in Linping District, Hangzhou. For the world's second-largest hydropower station after the Three Gorges, Far East Cable designed a new cable structure and special supporting bearing fixtures for this special environment, and formulated the overall layout and fixture design scheme for vertical suspension cables. This is a successful practice of Far East's vertical suspension cables in the field of hydropower new energy, and a new breakthrough in the hoisting and laying technology of vertical suspension cables.
In the future, Far East Cable will continue to actively deploy in the new power system, strengthen product R&D and innovation, and deepen all-round cooperation in energy security supply, power grid infrastructure construction, power equipment industry development, green and low-carbon economic and social transformation, and the achievement of the "Dual Carbon" goals. With high-quality power cable products, it will empower high-quality development and high-quality life, and make new and greater contributions to the overall national development.
