On October 23, 2018, the opening ceremony of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, the world's longest cross-sea bridge, was held in Zhuhai. President Xi Jinping attended the ceremony and announced the official opening of the bridge. As a strategic supplier for the traffic engineering of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge's main project, Far East Smarter Energy Co., Ltd. provided high-quality products and services for the project.

Spanning the Lingdingyang, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge connects Hong Kong to the east and Zhuhai and Macao to the west. It is the first large-scale cross-sea transportation project jointly constructed by the three Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao regions under the framework of "One Country, Two Systems", and also the world's longest cross-sea bridge project. With a total length of 55 kilometers, the bridge integrates bridges, islands and tunnels. The main marine bridge-tunnel project is 35.578 kilometers long, including three cable-stayed bridges, all with steel structures. The bridge is designed to withstand a magnitude 8 earthquake, resist a category 16 typhoon, and has a designed service life of 120 years. The completion and opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge have further improved the comprehensive transportation systems and expressway networks of the country and the three Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao regions, holding great strategic significance for the coordinated development of Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao.

The intelligent transportation cables produced by Far East Cable, a subsidiary of Far East Smarter Energy, were fully applied to relevant facilities within nearly 30 kilometers of the main bridge, including lighting, power supply and distribution, and the integrated toll and communication center, with a supply volume exceeding 100 million yuan. Meanwhile, the company's technical and service teams also participated in the engineering system design phase, providing comprehensive solutions for project operation.

The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge project is currently the largest, most technically complex and most difficult-to-construct expressway electromechanical installation project in China. To successfully complete the tasks of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge construction project, Far East's technical service team adhered to the service tenet of "promptly answer all inquiries, respond to all requests, and implement the first-asked responsibility system", providing high-quality services throughout the project. Far East's Technical Service Department dispatched multiple batches of engineers to the site of the main traffic engineering of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, assisting China Railway Construction Electrification Bureau Group Co., Ltd. in providing comprehensive technical services such as cable system selection, construction, installation guidance and commissioning.

Before receiving the order for this project, Far East established a dedicated "Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge" project team, with the General Manager personally serving as the team leader. The special project team arranged leaders from technical, production, quality and other departments to participate. By early 2015, after Far East won the bid, it spent a year and a half on technical parameter design, on-site investigation, and confirmation design of wire and cable and accessory matching performance, making full preparations for on-site construction.

In terms of product design and R&D, due to the complex on-site environment, after nearly three months of design and R&D for relevant products, Far East conducted more than 10 sample trial productions, each completed overtime within 3-4 days. Ultimately, it took less than 4 months from product design to completion, and all subsequent supplied products passed inspection, ensuring the smooth progress of the project.

Far East paid meticulous attention to on-site construction and testing. Affected by the environment, the bridge's thermal expansion and contraction could reach up to about 1.5 meters in winter and summer, requiring full consideration of flexibility in wire and cable installation. After multiple on-site investigations and numerous discussions with China Railway Construction, responsible for the main bridge's electrical installation, Far East finally confirmed the adoption of a serpentine "S" laying method, ensuring sufficient reserved length to ingeniously overcome environmental challenges.

During the testing process, as the power equipment for the main traffic engineering of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge was located on bridge piers or inside box girders, Far East personnel participating in the project carried dozens of kilograms of testing equipment back and forth for inspections, walking more than ten kilometers daily. They were extremely meticulous and rigorous in each phase of testing and commissioning, allowing not the slightest error.

Far East insists on being customer-centric and strives to provide the highest quality products and services. It is with such an original intention that Far East completed the construction and services of the relevant cable projects for the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge with high quality, fully ensuring the smooth opening of the bridge.

As a global smart energy and digital city service provider, Far East has supplied intelligent cable products and system solutions to a series of national key projects, including the Three Gorges Transmission Project, Shanghai World Expo Project, Shanghai World Financial Center, Maglev Train, China Zun, and Tiangong-2. Guided by the "Made in China 2025" strategy and the "Belt and Road" initiative, Far East will continue to innovate and strive for excellence in the future, making greater contributions to the development and construction of the country and social economy.
