CCTV reported: The second phase of the Caipeng Photovoltaic and Energy Storage Power Station in Shannan, Xizang — the world's highest-altitude photovoltaic project — has officially been put into operation. Compared with the 5,100-meter altitude of the first phase, the maximum altitude of the newly commissioned second phase reaches 5,228 meters, setting a new record for the altitude of photovoltaic power stations in China. CCTV's special program "Major National Projects in Progress" has comprehensively showcased the features, construction experience and achievements of the second phase of Xizang Caipeng Photovoltaic and Energy Storage Power Station, telling the inspiring story of China accelerating new energy development on the "Roof of the World" and using green electricity to guarantee power supply for local people.

It is estimated that the project will generate an annual power output of 155 million kWh, meeting the annual electricity demand of 50,000 households. This is equivalent to saving 46,700 tons of standard coal and reducing 101,800 tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
