Recently, the People's Government of Jiangsu Province issued the decision on the 2024 Science and Technology Awards. The project "Key Technology R&D and Application of High-Performance Collector Cable Series for Offshore Wind Power", led by Far East Submarine Cable Co., Ltd. and jointly completed with Far East Cable Co., Ltd., Xi'an Jiaotong University, New Far East Cable Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu East China Intelligent Cable Testing Co., Ltd., won the Third Prize of Jiangsu Science and Technology Progress Award.

Focusing on torsion-resistant collector cables inside wind turbine towers, as well as collector submarine cables between wind turbines and from wind turbines to offshore booster stations, the project team carried out systematic innovative research and achievement transformation, and successfully developed a series of internationally leading torsion-resistant wind power cables and collector submarine cables. Targeting the core demands of "high reliability, large capacity, environmental resistance and easy operation & maintenance" for offshore wind power collection systems, the project has built a full-chain R&D system of "materials–structure–process–monitoring" through years of continuous research, achieving breakthroughs in a number of key technologies. The relevant achievements have been widely used in offshore wind farms at home and abroad, effectively ensuring the safe and stable operation of power transmission systems, and providing strong support for building a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient modern energy system.
Jiangsu Science and Technology Award is one of the highest honors in the field of science and technology in the province.
