As a key project of the national "West-East Power Transmission" successive energy base and the construction of the national southwest hydropower base, the Suwalong Hydropower Station is located at the junction of Mangkang County, Qamdo City, Xizang and Batang County, Sichuan Province on the upper reaches of the Jinsha River. Adopting a dam-type development mode, it has a maximum dam height of 112 meters, a normal reservoir water level of 2,475 meters, and a total installed capacity of 1.2 million kilowatts, making it the first large-scale hydropower project in Xizang with an installed capacity exceeding one million kilowatts.

The "Suwalong Hydropower Station–Batang 500kV Transmission Line Project" is part of the 500kV outgoing transmission project of the Suwalong Hydropower Station, undertaking the critical task of delivering power generated by the station.
